Evangelism and Witnessing to the world starts at home and within our church [shared by Honey]

Our love FOR EACH OTHER will show the world who God is. But sadly, our churches and sometimes even SGs are at odds with each other, not walking in love and oneness. How then can the message of God's love be made known.

This Christmas and coming 2015, may God teach us how to love more deeply, care more genuinely, serve more wholeheartedly, and share His love more boldly.

Abide Wth Me [song shared by Andreas & verse shared by Suli]

The Vine and the Branches [John 15: 1-17]

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

17 This is my command: Love each other.

[I shared these after we sang the hymn picked by Andreas "ABIDE WITH ME".
I found it very interesting that it was one of the verses given on PRAISE SUNDAY - 26oct!
GOD PROVIDES in remarkable ways!!

Recalling & Reflecting on God’s Word (shared by Andrew, 3 Sep 2014 BOL1)

A. Importance of the Word
John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.

Hebrews: 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

After Jesus rose from the dead, one of His first recorded acts was to interpret Scripture: "And beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures" (Luke 24:27).

Ephesians 6: 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

B. How to treat the Word (checklist)
c Pray and Seek the Holy Spirit’s helpJohn 14:26  (Jesus said) the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.  AND  John 16:13a When the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.

c Check - Acts 17:11-12 Now these (Bereans) were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed.

c Read Daily - Luke 11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.

c Study - Heb 5:12 - 13 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.…

c Apply - Matthew 13:22 – 23 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

2 Timothy 3:16 (Three “versions”)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (New International Version).

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. (New Living Translation)

Verses 14-17 But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. (The Message)
