Thoughts on Bible Reading; Nehemiah3 & Acts13 [shared by Andrew]

Acts 13 has a moving account of the    early church expanding, going from city to city, encountering a false prophet, a sorcerer, jealous religious leaders as well as many thirsty for God's message  - for which an inspiring explanation of the gospel is given.

Yet v46 also tells of those full of pride rejecting God and considering themselves above eternal life.

This theme of pride also appears in Nehemiah 3 where everyone seems to have a role to play except the "nobles" who did not want to work hard under supervision.

Thot for myself: To what extent is my pride keeping me from receiving the true joy of God's message for me or from doing what He has called me to?
